Alex, from just West of Glasgow. Reason for interest is that there was a bit about the civic importance of war memorials in a foundation course in Arts run by the OU that I did a couple of years ago. It must have struck a chord. Anyway, been recording a number of W of Scotland memorials and updating the UKNIWM records. Only found this forum by accident. Looks good and I plan to contribute.

Hi Alex and welcome - we can certainly do with another active member from your area. Have you checked back to UKNIWM to see if any of your updates have gone online? I have submitted quite a few but only a couple of deletions (duplicates) and a couple of minor amendments have been done, certainly none of the new stuff although they do always acknowledge it. They will get there in the end I am sure.

Welcome to the forum. As you can see you are not alone in your interest in war memorials, I'm glad you found us.
You've been very busy and it's nice to see you're posting some memorials that haven't been visited by other members of the forum. You are filling in quite a few gaps in our list.
