Named on the Lochmaben War Memorial in Dumfriesshire as:

Pte. J. PARKER, R.S.F.
John Parker – age 21 – Private (12166) 6th Battalion, Royal Scots Fusiliers.
John was employed near Ballantrae in Ayrshire when he enlisted at Ayr. He landed with his battalion at Boulogne in May 1915 but he was killed four months later at the battle of Loos.
Born c.1894 in Dumfries. (Source: SNWM but cannot trace on GRoS)
Son of John and Elizabeth Parker of Chapelcroft, and of Loch Bank Cottage, Lochmaben.
Missing in Action on 26 September 1915 and named on the Loos Memorial, France.

Wigtownshire Free Press (23/8/1917): Captain DH Kennedy (MC), Royal Scots Fusiliers, who is officially reported missing, was gazetted in March 1915. He is the second son of Mr Rolande Fergussone Kennedy, of Finnarts, Glanapp, Ayrshire (twenty-fourth in descent from Duncan de Carrick, living in 1150 and held by some authorities to be the Chief of the Kennedys), by his marriage with Flora Glencairn (died 1910), daughter if the late Mr Charles George Shaw, Ayr. Captain Kennedy was awarded the Military Cross in January this year.

Wigtownshire Free Press (20/9/1917): Captain David Hew Kennedy, MC, Royal Scots Fusiliers, previously missing, now officially reported killed, was born on 11 July 1891. He was the second son of Mr Roland Fergussone Kennedy of Finnarts, Glenapp, and of the late Mrs Kennedy. His father is twenty fourth in descent from Duncan de Carrick.
