and named on the Royal Four Towns War Memorial in Hightae Village, Dumfriesshire as:

R. U. LITTLE, SEAFORTHS.
Robert Underwood Little – age 24 – Lance Corporal (S/2927) 2nd Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders.
Robert had been a member of the Anderson United Free Church choir in Kilsyth, Stirlingshire. He landed with the 8th Seaforths at Boulogne in July 1915 but was gassed during the battle of Loos in September and was evacuated to hospital and then spent four months in a convalescent camp. He made a visit to his home before he returned to the front in February 1916.

Born 1894 in Paisley, Renfrewshire. Son of James Imrie Little (a Sanitary Inspector) and Susan (Underwood) Little of Innsbridge Cottage, Kilsyth. James and Susan had married in 1890 in Lochmaben, Dumfriesshire and her brother, Robert Underwood, had a joinery business in Hightae, Lochmaben.
Missing in Action on 4 October 1917 and named on the Tyne Cot Memorial, Belgium.
