A case for Drummer William Herriot as a service related death non comm (pulmonary TB) has now been accepted by MOD and his details added to the CWGC Debt of Honour Roll today.
He was a native of South Leith but was residing with his sister at Larbert at his death. His grave is unmarked.

Additional Information:

In 1915, while stationed at Currie, George married Ann Cunningham in Stirling. Her brother, John Cunningham, (23349 KOSB) died of wounds at a military hospital in Ballinrobe, County Mayo, Ireland in 1919. He is buried in St Ninian's Old Churchyard (although no stone has been found). Both George and John are commemorated on the Stirling civic war memorial and on the memorial within St Ninian's Old Parish Church.
