Posted by Tonym’s daughter at his request. (my apologies if this is the wrong part of the forum to post this)
It is with great sadness that I have to tell you that Dad died peacefully in hospital on the 22nd of March.
Whilst sorting through his personal papers I found a specific request asking that in the event of his death I log into his account and make a post under his username thanking everyone who assisted him with his research into female military casualties during his time on this forum.
Thank you.
Tony's daughter, Teri. _________________ Pte. W. BROWN, Middlesex Regiment, K.I.A Battle of The Somme.

Thanks for taking time to let us know your sad news.
We are a band of researchers who care about others and so the loss of one is noticed.

Oh Teri, I'm so very sorry to hear the news about your dad.
He and I were good pals over the years mailing each other back and forth about his 'ladies' and I for one will miss him greatly.
My deep condolences to you and your family.

My condolences.
Tony's contributions to this forum will be missed but his efforts will live on through the various postings. His passion to make sure that 'his ladies' were properly remembered and commemorated were evident to all of us who knew him online. I will long remember his contributions.
