This man is named on KOSB section the Lockerbie War Memorial as:
CPL. DAVID ROBSON.
and on the nearby Hutton & Corrie Parish War Memorial as:
CPL. D. ROBSON, KOSB, FRANCE, 1918.
but I cannot trace him anywhere.

There is a David Robson – age 24 – Private (S/10367) 8th Battalion, Black Watch on the Dumfries War Memorial but he had no obvious link to the above.

Help!

I think you have "nailed" him Mark.
David was a shepherd with a Mr Burnie of Penlaw, Lockerbie.
As far as I can work out Penlaw Farm is in Corrie, so that fits, and there is not, as far as I can see, a David Robertson on any memorial in the Lockerbie area.

David's father Robert was at Craigieland Lodge, Beattock and his brother James was killed at Gallipoli in November 1915.
Both David and James are named on the Kirkpatrick Juxta memorial at Beattock.

ROBERTSON, JAMES
Rank: Private
Service No: 20225
Date of Death: 22/11/1915
Age: 23
Regiment/Service: King's Own Scottish Borderers, 1st Bn.
Grave Reference: H. 40.
Cemetery: LANCASHIRE LANDING CEMETERY

Additional Information:
Son of Robert and Bessie Robertson, of Eglinton Mains, Irvine, Ayrshire. Native of Kirkcudbright.

I need to do a bit more digging to be completely sure but...........

Thanks again. Very Happy
