My brother has refurbished a set of WW1 era Lawrie bagpipes. The wooden pipe case has the following hand information carved on it. Any help finding the story behind the pipes or soldier would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Anne. I will research further with guarded optimism that this may be the start of finding more info.

So far I have not been able to further the search for Piper Hamilton. I feel that he key is his service number but no luck so far.
There is no marking on the pipes to establish any history. My brother has done a great job on the rebuild and as a Class 1 piper himself he has brought them to life. He was a member of both the Glencraig and Lochore Pipe Band in the 1960's.
Thank you to all who have viewed the post, maybe one day some thing will turn up. |
