Hello RG,
Thank you very much for the information on James Aigo.
A couple of years ago, I did a lot of research on Camelon men - a copy of which I handed over to Gerry Goldie for the proposed Camelon War Memorial. (I don't know if the proposals were scrapped or simply put on hold due to the recession as I haven't heard anything for ages).
You are quite welcome to a copy. I didn't trawl through the Falkirk Herald, but I tried to cross-reference many of the men on various other local memorials and also those who are either buried in local cemeteries or who are buried overseas but listed on family gravestones.
For example - George Fleming Brock, 202656, Pte., A. & S. H., died 28/03/1918 (not listed on Camelon Church Plaque) was the son of Andrew & Abigail Brock of Glenfuir Lodge, Camelon. He's listed on Denny Town Memorial, Denny Cemetery Memorial, Larbert Memorial, Dunipace (formerly Denovan) Memorial and Stirling Memorial.

Hi Anne would like a copy of your research if possible as I am thinking of writing some sort of book on the Camelon people killed during the first world war. I have a lot of information from Falkirk Herald etc. on these people but there are some bits still missing, if there are any people you need info. on please let me know and I will try and help.
Thanks,
Richard. _________________ the mariner |
