Cpl James Wellington Ritchie, 345125, 14 (F & F Y) Black Watch, formerly 1865, 1 Fife and Forfar Yeomanry. Killed 10 September 1918. Buried Templeux-le-Guerard British Cemetery.
Born in Alloa. Father James Ritchie, Ricardo, Edzell. His father was the stationmaster at Edzell, but at the time of James's death he was working at Cove Bay.

Brother of George Cuthbert Ritchie. Both brothers are commemorated on their mother's gravestone in Brechin Cemetery and also of the Edzell UF Church Roll of Honour.

Pte William Smith, 41487, 9 Scottish Rifles. Killed 3 May 1917. Commemorated on the Arras Memorial. He had previously served in 2 Fife and Forfar Yeomanry.
His father was Peter Smith of Lochside, Edzell.
He is commemorated on the family gravestone in Edzell churchyard.
He is on the Edzell UF Church Roll of Honour.

Correction: That should be Peter Smith of East Mains, Edzell.
