This memorial is in the form of a stained glass window, which not only commemorates the two brothers of this family and their mother (the centre figure of the three) but also Charles' wife. James, Charles and his wife all died within a very short space of time.
The figures in the window have the likenesses of the brothers and their mothers. I was told they were taken from photographs. The family resemblance is quite striking.

And just to show the family resemblance, here is a close up of their mothers image:

I'm a little unsure as to why these windows say Joseph, Rachel and Benjamin. Biblical figures?

Joseph and Benjamin were the sons of Rachel (book of Genesis) - so these windows can be said to depict Rachel and her sons but in the image of Mary, Charles and James which they can excuse because no-one knows what the biblical figures looked like. Saves any argument about whether it is proper to depict non biblical figures in a church - a good bit of lateral thinking.

Very interesting - and unusual. The faces are almost photographic-like in their reproduction and I wondered about the process in achieving this with the stained glass?
