This church is the one behind the Gretna Bombing Raid memorial.

One unusual thing about the plaque - it seems to be chrome plated.

John Voyle Kerr – age 23 – Signalman (2337398) 15th Division Signals, Royal Corps of Signals.
John was educated at Dumfries Academy, while his father was curate at St. John's church, and was employed in the Electricity Department of Dumfries County Council when he enlisted. He had been in training for 3 weeks when he collapsed and died in his barracks in Partick, Glasgow.
Born 1917 in Edmonton, London. Son of the Rev. John Cyril Kerr and Winifred (Massey) Kerr of All Saints' Parsonage, Gretna.
Died on Service on 13 April 1940.
Commonwealth War Grave – Gretna Cemetery.
