"Sergeant George Reid, 2nd Battalion Gordon Highlanders, was killed in action on June 18. He was a 1st Gordon Reservist, having been through the South African War, for which he had the medal and clasps. He received promotion in the field in France. He was a tailor and 32 years of age."
