Location in Stranraer Town Kirk at OS Map Ref NX 064 606.

This memorial is for members of St Marks United Free Church, Lewis Street which closed and is now the Gospel Hall.

This is the Town Kirk (current location)

Wigtownshire Free Press (6/2/1919): Previously reported missing on 26th - 29th October 1918, now reported killed in action on 26th October 1918, Private James Emerson. no 235129, 4th Seaforth Highlanders, grandson of the late Mrs Emerson, and nephew of Mrs McGaw, 13 Station Place, Stranraer, aged 23 years.

Also named on Stranraer Burgh War Memorial and on the family gravestone in Sheuchan Cemetery.

What is it with Stranraer and Seaforth Highlanders?????
Geographically can you get further apart????
