James Williamson Pool – age 20 – 2nd Lieutenant: 5th/6th Battalion, Cameronians (Scottish Rifles)
Formerly Corporal (1289) 1/5th Battalion (Dumfries and Galloway) King's Own Scottish Borderers.
He is named on the Dalbeattie War Memorial as: 2.LIEUT. JAMES POOL, K.R.R.
and on the Colvend Parish War Memorial as: POOL, JAS. WILLIAMSON, Lieut. 6th Scottish Rifles. He was attached to the KRR when he was killed.
James was educated at Colvend and Barnbarroch schools and at Skerry's College in Glasgow before being employed at the bank in New Galloway in May 1914.
Sadly it doesn't say which bank - is he on any bank memorial?????

Can I add Matthew Bryson Richardson Private (14744) 1st Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers. Drowned 13/8/1915.
Worked in a bank in Dalbeattie.
update found Richardson on Clydesdale Bank Memorial

Pooll is not on the memorials for any of the following:

Bank of Scotland
British Linen Bank
Union Bank of Scotland
Commercial Bank of Scotland (or any of the RBS Group memorials)

It is possible he might not be on a bank memorial - I've identified several men who had to resign from bank service to enlist as they weren't given permission to do so, and because of this they weren't included on the memorial.

Thank you for looking David.
Since he wasn't anywhere else, I rechecked the Clydesdale Memorial (where I found Richardson) and he's there Very Happy
He is named as J.W.POOLE 11th KRRC so he gained an "E" but it's got to be him.
