Historical Information

The cemetery was begun in 1905. There is a special service plot in which rest all but 2 of the 61 Commonwealth burials of the 1939-45 war. The burials were mostly from the naval base at Aberdeen, 12 miles away, and from Kingseat Naval Hospital at New Machar. 3 of these burials are unidentified seamen of the Merchant Navy.

There is one 1914-1918 war grave in this cemetery and 2 non-war Service burials.

The cemetery is on School Road which lies to the east of, and runs parallel to, the A947 as it runs through the village
