On CWGC it has A Coy rd Bn so I put in 3. Finding anything on this Gordon Highlander is proving really hard. Any idea?

From 1917 The Gordon Highlanders and HLI both had Graduated and Young Soldier Battalions
In both regiments the 51st and 52nd Bns were Graduated and the 53rd the Young Soldier Battalions.
These were reserve battalions of the Service battalions and trained young conscripts in the UK before being sent overseas. I think I'm right in saying The Gordon units trained recruits for the Highland regiments and HLI for the Lowland regiments.
As an 18 year old Templeman would have been conscripted into the 53rd YS Battalion.
The original IWGC register which the CWGC have scanned shows he was in the 53rd Bn. I will contact them to let them know the scan has missed that.
Thanks
