UKNIWM lists the Alyth WW1 memorial as UKNIWM Ref: 44752 - a sculpted figure within an unidentified park. Obviously not this memorial. So this appears to be yet another unlisted memorial.
There should also be one for the South African wars (possibly not in the church) and a further memorial in Alyth post office - but I am being pushy now you may already have these ready to post. |

I think 44753 - Alyth WW2 is the one situated behing the WW1 Memorial at Alyth Muir. It is a wall with names on a marble plaque set into it. I have posted a photo of it on the forum.
The photo and some info on the Alyth Boer War Memorial, Market Square is also posted.
As far as I can see the names for Alyth Post Office is on the tablet at Meadowside, Dundee. I will try and get round to that one - sometime! |

THE ALYTH GUARDIAN: 30.06.16
Intimation was received on Wednesday by Mr John Shaw, Cairnleith Street, that his youngest son, Trooper Robert Shaw (25 years of age), had been killed in action between 11th and 14th June. Trooper Shaw emigrated to Canada four years ago, and when war broke out he joined the Canadian Contingent, and was drafted to France where he was wounded last year and was in Alyth for a short time on furlough. He was for some years a grocer in the Strathmore Supply Stores, and was a very popular young man. |
