I was in Edinburgh the other day and had a look at the Old College memorial. Luckily, I took some pics (with only my toy camera to hand, I'm afraid) as I discovered that it does not appear on this site yet. Walking through the Old College gates from South Bridge, the memorial, a series of bronze plaques by Pilkington Jackson, is situated directly opposite at the west end of the quadrangle.

The large panels commemorate those who fell in the Great War and, below them, six more panels have been added to commemorate those lost in the Second World War.

Wow! What a find. In all the years I have visited Edinburgh I had no idea that this memorial existed and I don't think I have seen so many doctors.
A couple of names (from WW2)
