Named on the Parish War Memorial on an external wall of Balmaghie Parish Church as :TRPR. W. P. WATSON, AYRSHIRE YEO.

William Paton Watson, Private (2003) Ayrshire Yeomanry. Age 20.
Born 1895 at Glentoo Farm, Balmaghie.
Son of Robert and Elizabeth Dunlop (Paton) Watson of Halferne Farm, Crossmichael, Kirkcudbrightshire.
Enlisted November 1914.
Killed in action 28 December 1915 and buried in Pink Farm Cemetery, Helles, Turkey.
Also listed on the Roll of Honour of Balmaghie Church
