From http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-south-scotland-31364439

A series of events will mark the 100th anniversary of the UK's worst rail disaster later this year.

A total of 227 people died when three trains crashed at Quintinshill Bridge near Gretna Green on 22 May 1915.

Plans have been drawn up to open a new roll of honour at Gretna Old Church and to plant a commemorative tree at Gretna Green war memorial.

A descendent of one of the survivors is expected to lay a wreath at the bridge.

There will also be a march to the Quintinshill siding and events involving local primary school children.

Many of those who died in the tragedy were servicemen with the Leith-based Royal Scots, who were travelling to Liverpool before they sailed to Gallipoli.

The events at Gretna on 22 May will be followed by a commemoration in Leith the next day.

The Leith even is ticket only in Rosebank Cemetery but there will be the screen they used at the Castle Esplanade for the ANZAC Commemoration in the SNWM in Pilrig Park to relay the event to those without a ticket. There will also be a screen in Pilrig St Paul's Church at the end of the road.

On Saturday 23rd May, there will be the annual Memorial Service at Rosebank Cemetery, Pilrig Street. The importance of this occasion for the people of Leith will mean it will be much larger, It is being organised by The Royal Scots and there will be a contingent of civic and military representatives. A parade will move off at 10.15 from the former Drill Hall in Dalmeny Street where the coffins were laid out in 1915 prior to interment. The parade will then follow the route used in 1915 to Rosebank Cemetery. The Commemoration Service follows on at the Memorial Cross in Rosebank Cemetery. The intention is that the Order of Service for the Commemoration will closely follow the original used when the Memorial was dedicated on 12th May 1916.

It is understood that there will be tickets for the Service in Rosebank Cemetery but screens will be located in Pilrig Park and in St Paul's (Pilrig) Church so that all the community can share is this important commemoration. Preceding the event, at a date and time still to be announced, there will be a one hour TV programme about the crash on BBC narrated by Neil Oliver.

Additionally

TV schedules are now confirming "Quintinshill: Britain’s Deadliest Rail Disaster", a one-hour film narrated by Neil Oliver. The film will be shown on BBC Two Scotland at 9pm on Wednesday 20th May.
Aside from BBC TV and the iPlayer (to download too), BBC Two Scotland can be found on Sky at 970.

Derek - the only thing I can find is this:
http://www.community-council.org.uk/springfieldandgretnagreen/index.asp?pageid=526403

I'll keep looking.

EDIT
Just found this at http://www.dumgal.gov.uk/index.aspx?articleid=14602

The centenary of the Quintinshill rail disaster will be commemorated in Gretna Green on Friday 22 May 2015.

HRH The Princess Royal will attend some of the commemorative events. First Minister Nicola Sturgeon MSP will also be present. Dumfries and Galloway Council representatives will include Leader Ronnie Nicholson and Armed Forces Champion Councillor Archie Dryburgh.

The Quintinshill rail disaster on 22 May 1915 claimed 227 lives, including 216 servicemen of The Royal Scots as they headed for Gallipoli. Another 246 people were injured. The train crash, near Gretna, remains the UK's worst rail disaster.

The programme of events includes a march to Quintinshill rail siding; the unveiling of a Roll of Honour at Gretna Old Parish Church; a commemorative tree planting at Gretna Green war memorial; the premiere reading of the Quintinshill poem at Stormont village hall; and an Act of Remembrance and wreath laying at Quintinshill Bridge.

Timetable
•10.25am - Parade forms, memorial cairn, behind the Blacksmith's Shop, Headless Cross, Gretna Green DG16 5EA
•11.00am - Ecumenical service and wreath laying, Royal Scots memorial cairn
•11.40am - Quintinshill poem reading, Stormont Village Hall
•12.00 noon - Unveiling of Roll of Honour, Gretna Old Parish Church

Please note that, due to space and safety issues (this is a small operational Network Rail site through which high speed trains pass) the general public will not be able to access the event at this site.

Car Parking

Please note that no designated parking area has been identified on site. Anyone attending the events will need plenty of time for travelling, parking and walking to the venue. They must adhere to any instructions given by those assisting with parking on the day.

Public parking is available at:
•Greens at Gretna First Hotel in Scotland, Sarkfoot Road, Gretna DG16 5EP
•Gretna Gateway overflow car park, Glasgow Road, Gretna DG16 5GG

I hear that John Cameron , former chairman of the Western Front Assoc - south of Scotland branches and editor of their Behind the Parapet journal attended and with Princess Anne laid wreaths at the Gretna car park memorial that I think John was involved in many years ago having erected.
