Deeside Man Died in Jap Hands C.Q M.S. William C. Calder, Gordon Highlanders, a Deeside soldier who was taken prisoner by the Japs at Singapore, died October 19, 1943. This news has now been received by his relatives. Fourth son of the late Mr and Mrs Calder, Cairnton, Lumphanan, C.Q.M.S. Calder served in the Gordons for fourteen years, eight of them abroad. was thirty-five years of age His sister is Mrs Brown, Jasmine Place, Aberdeen.
