STRAIN, THOMAS.

Age:31
Regiment/Service:Royal Army Medical Corps No. 6 Mobile Laboratory
Grave Reference:V. A. 7.
Cemetery:LILLERS COMMUNAL CEMETERY
Additional Information:Son of William and Margaret Strain; husband of Minnie Strain, of 2, Southwood Court, Golders Green, London.
The headstone schedule has: Mrs. M Strain, Buarbrae, Wishaw.
He was a graduate of Glasgow University and he married Minnie Bennett in Marylebone, London. in 1911. _________________ Ken |

The smaller of the 2 WW1 plaques is dedicated to the members of Berryhill Mission Station, which was attached to Wishaw Old Parish Church. The Mission was across Glasgow Road from the King George V Park and was laterly used as a canteen fro Morton Machine Company.
When the building closed this and other memorials were transferred to Wishaw Old Parish Church.

Top centre photo looked naval rather than army and turned out to be another doctor:
HISLOP, JOHN.

Age:20
Regiment/Service:Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve H.M.S. "Nessus."
Panel Reference:19.
Memorial:PLYMOUTH NAVAL MEMORIAL
Additional Information:Son of Mary Shaw Hislop, of 211, Main St., Wishaw, Lanarkshire, and the late Peter Hislop.
The destroyer HMS Nessus was a veteran of the Battle of Jutland in 1916 when she lost five crew. In 1918 she sank after being rammed by the cruiser HMS Amphirite off the cost of Wick.. _________________ Ken |

The William Thomson that is pictured, is it
William Thomson – 2nd Lieutenant – 411168 – Scottish Rifles 6th Battalion
who died May 4th 1917
