Skelmorlie - Inverclyde
The Skelmorlie war memorial is a sandstone celtic cross with flanking wall forming a curve in front of the memorial and incorporating stone benches. The monument stands on the main road at the car park next to the train station/ferry terminal. Its always good to see a memorial being used and here some old buddies enjoy a fish supper after the ferry from Rothesay.

Not listed on UKNIWM - note that the online UKNIWM database has not been updated for over 2 years by my estimate but I understand they are in the process of doing so.

It's a difficult one Kenneth, It's frustrating my end, I exhausted all I could online, but those two first source records do help. It may take a few searches local newspapers I feel to try and connect 100%
It's highly "probable" I'd say that this could very well be the man we are looking for.
My "highly probable" sometimes can be "hopefull" but this looks like we're on the right track.

Thanks Kenneth good find!
James
