John - I'm really pleased, and a bit proud, to have been associated with the research on this project.
I think that the finished result is quite remarkable.

A little more on Alexander Hill.

Wigtownshire Free Press (28/11/1918): Lieut Alexander Hill, HLI, who died on 12th October of wounds received that day, was formerly (1902-5) on the staff of Farraline Park School, Inverness. Thence he proceeded to Stranraer, and for a period of over nine years was an enthusiastic teacher and a great favourite with the scholars in Lewis Street School. Lieut Hill was specially gifted in music, and the school received special mention in the Blue Book for the high standard of voice production reached. Mr hill, who was also choir master at Ivy Place Church, subsequently received an appointment under Glasgow School Board. He was on the staff of Hyde Park School, Springburn, when in 1915 he enlisted in the Glasgow Highlanders, and acted as instructor until he received his commission in 1917. He continued as instructor in the Officers' School, Stirling, till he proceeded to France in April of this year. Hill was the only son of Mr and Mrs Hill, Millcraig, Alness, to whom and to his widow (previous to her marriage, Miss Barbara Mackenzie, of the High School staff), the warmest sympathy is extended.
