-Friends who rejoiced with Mrs Fleming on receipt of the good news from the Colonial Office will be shocked at this corrected intimation just received.

East Dunbartonshire Council commissioned a condition survey which was carried out in December 2013. The council has now submitted an application for listed building consent to carry out conservation work on the memorial based on the survey recommendations.

Details are on the council website, including a copy of the survey.
