Although not listed on the Denny War Memorial, Joseph Sneddon was born at Wellstrand, Denny on 3 July 1885 to parents James Sneddon and Jeanie Sneddon ms Laird.
He served as Sapper 91006 Royal Engineers 180th Tunnelling Coy. and died on 16 March 1916.
He is buried at Beuvery Communal Cemetery Extension Plot 1; Row A; Grave 6
Inscription on headstone - "Gone But Not Forgotten From His Wife And Family"
Mrs J Sneddon (Julia Sneddon ms Allan). Her address at time of his death was given as 14 Kingstone Row, Kilsyth.
CWGC has him as being a native of Bannockburn but I have his birth and marriage certificates in my files.
He married Julia R Allan in Ballingry, Fife in 1906.

I have searched Bannockburn, Ballingry and Kilsyth War Memorials for Joseph but he is not listed on any of these as far as I can see.

Alfred Lorimer is also listed on the Stirling War Memorial; the Stirling Roll of Honour gives his address as Kersemill. Although his place of birth is given on SDGW as Denny, he was actually born in Knockando, Moray in 1890. By 1901 the family was at Grange View, Denny where his father, William, died in 1908.

LORIMER, A
Rank: Private
Service No: S/9190
Date of Death: 17/04/1917
Regiment/Service: Black Watch (Royal Highlanders) 8th Bn.
Grave Reference: II. E. 74.
Cemetery; AUBIGNY COMMUNAL CEMETERY EXTENSION
Additional Information:
Name: Alfred Lorimer
Birth Place: Denny, Stirlingshire
Death Date: 17 Apr 1917
Death Place: France and Flanders
Enlistment Place: Stirling
Rank: Private
Regiment: Black Watch (Royal Highlanders)
Battalion: 8th (Service) Battalion
Regimental Number: S/9190
Type of Casualty: Died of wounds
Theatre of War: Western European Theatre
Medal card – theatre 1 France 5.10.15; died wounds 17.4.17

Edit: he is also commemorated on the Bonnybridge memorial - he was a meal miller of Bonny Mill, Bonnybridge at the time of his marriage to Jeanie Caine in 1912. His address in the Stirling Roll of Honour is given as Kersemill but I can find no other evidence for his having lived in Stirling.
His brother was Alexander Lorimer (on this memorial but not Stirling or Bonnybridge) of A&SH, died of wounds 2 August 1916.
