From what I can see Allars Church was a United Free Church during the First World War.
It looks like the church closed in 1949 which could explain why there was no memorial for the Second World War until after the church closed.

Unhappy with a proposed local union Allars Church instead seceded from the Church of Scotland in 1948 and promptly dissolved 1 month later.
This meant they could dispose of their own assets and £ from selling church.
(Normal trust deeds make this impossible for old parish or Free churches...
... but they were a Relief Church which became UP > United Free > CofS).
This probably explains lack of WWII memorial and why WWI is in museum. |
