Derek

I believe that after a few years the number of cemeteries open for burial was reduced and only certain ones would be used for graves found within a geographical area. I note from Stothart's entry in CWGC that it looks like his was one of several KOSB bodies found in late 1924 / early 1925 and luckily his was identified. Rather than be buried in the nearest cemtery he would be buried in the nearest concentration cemetery which was still open for burials.

Here's what CWGC says about it:

The cemetery, which was begun in April 1918, during the Battles of Lys, was named after a nearby stores dump. It was used by fighting units and field ambulances until the following October and was enlarged after the Armistice when more than 200 graves were brought into Plots III and IV from the battlefields of the Ypres Salient

I'm not sure how he is named on this memorial but the IWM memorial register lists him as FLETCHER, J.W.

He is named on the Galashiels War Memorial in Selkirkshire as:

PTE. JOHN FLETCHER. King's Own Scottish Borderers
John Fletcher – age 33 – Private (28656) 2nd Battalion, King's Own Scottish Borderers.
John had been a clerk with the Galashiels Co-operative Society and was a cashier with the Bonnybridge Co-operative Society in Stirlingshire when he enlisted.
Born 1885 in Galashiels as John Wilson Fletcher. Son of Thomas and Catherine (Wilson) Fletcher of Galashiels. Husband of Lily (Andreos) Fletcher of Falkirk Road, Bonnybridge who he married in 1910 in Bonnybridge.
Missing in Action on 29 June 1918 and named on the Ploegsteert Memorial, Belgium.
