From The Scotsman Monday 24th October 1921.

    WEST LINTON

The war memorial, which consists of a red freestone monument with bronze tablet, and on which is inscribed 32 names, is situated on the common between the Parish Church and the old toll-house. Sir James Ferguson, Bart. of Spital Haugh, who was convenor of committee introduced Sir Donald MacLean, M.P., who after addressing those present unveiled the monument.
