The Battle of Britain monument is located on Victoria Embankment, London (very near the entrance to Westminster tube station). It was unveiled on 18th September 2005 and was sculpted by Paul Day.

The monument has an official site with more information: http://www.bbm.org.uk/

I was truly impressed by this monument, in particular the "3D" nature of the statues, who appear in places to be walking out of the statue.

The monument lists 2,936 airmen and ground crew from 14 countries who took part in the battle on the Allied side. I did not take photographs of all the name panels, but here are two examples:

Alexander Logan McNay, a Hurricane pilot missing in action and a distant relative.

Archie McKellar, died 1st November 1940.

The monument also has the badges for all squadrons involved.

602 (City of Glasgow) Squadron:

603 (City of Edinburgh) Squadron:

In my opinion this memorial is a "must see". It's now firmly in my top ten of favourite memorials.
