The WW1 Naval Casualties transcription shows that Allan was born in Edinburgh on 21 April 1892. The relative notified of his death was his sister Jeannie of Landhold Rd., Stevenston, Ayrshire. Allan's service record shows he was a tailor to trade, had Light Brown hair, Blue eyes and a Fair complexion. He was 5’4¾” tall. There is contradictory information about Allan's parents - the CWGC shows him as the son of Allan Ramsey Drummond and the A&S intimations database shows his parents as Thomas and Agnes Oswald of Stevenston
