I think we need to get a photograph of the building, if it still exists, which the Rettie family purchased in memory of William Rettie.

From one of the links above it suggests that there is another stained glass window by Douglas Strachan which should also be considered part of the memorial.

Many thanks to Matthew Jarron and the University`s Museum Services for the pics.
Do any of the sleuths recognise the style of the window to Philip Rettie?
I suspect that the window by Douglas Strachan was erected in honour of father William rather than son Philip but i`ll check with Matthew.Either way as it is believed to be an unexecuted design for the National Memorial it should be recognised.I`ll follow up.

The building does still exist and might be considered a War Memorial????
http://dentistry.dundee.ac.uk/illustrious-history
which includes photographs and this:

"Since it’s founding in 1916 and the first dental students enrolling two years later, the Dundee School of Dentistry has changed beyond all recognition.
Back then, the Park Place premises comprised of the flat at No.4 plus the neighbouring house, No.2, which Mr. William Rettie generously equipped in memory of his son Philip who died in action at the Battle of Loos.
The School still occupies the old buildings, plus a 10 storey high tower block
."

Although it's not clear if the building was donated or just the contents.

I can confirm that, according to Matthew Jarron, both the building and its contents were presented to the university by William Rettie in memory of his son Philip.
Will photograph the building shortly.
