CWGC Information
Name: CALDWELL
Initial: J
Rank: Private
Regiment: Gordon Highlanders
Unit: 11th Bn transf to (377779) 769th Area Employment Coy Labour Corps

Cemetery/Memorial reference: IV. D. 26
Cemetery: DUNKIRK TOWN CEMETERY
The record of soldiers died in the Great War shows John was born in Ardrossan and resided in Paisley. The service record shows that John was found floating in the dock at Dunkirk harbour and the official enquiry at Queen Alexandra Hospital concluded he was drowned but there was no evidence to show "whether death was the result of an accident or otherwise" _________________ Mary |
