The RoH entry for CUV should read Guy.

Sergeant (Navigator) Robert Kerr Guy perished when Halifax DT738 of 51 Squadron on a bombing raid on Essen crashed in the target area. Cause of the loss has not been established.

As far as I can tell from the Census records, Richard and George McCard were the only sons of Richard and Mary Ann McCard.

I wonder which William Henderson is the one commemorated here. I note there is also a William Henderson commemorated at Stevenston.

Hi
Im researching the Beith Memorial, and as you probably know how confusing and difficult it is to find some of the names on the Memorial. I was wondering if you can help me with some of the men whom I cannot trace at all. Its about 12-14 men in total. I have researched and found the rest and if you like you can have all the details i have on them. or i can put them on the Website. You can email me on jamesbrown1888@gmail.com.
i hope this reaces you as its been 2012 since there was any activity from pr1066 on the Beith board.
kind regards
James Brown
PS I have researched about 70% pf the memorials in Ayrshire and if I can help fill in any gaps on this project I intend to start this year 2015 as I now have loads of spare time on my hands.
Regards
JB

James

Welcome to the forum. Please put the names you are having difficulty identifying on here or you can add a new request in our Queries and Requests section. You are unlikely to find people more experienced at tracking down names on Scottish war memorials than the members here so you should get some of them identified or have it narrowed down for further research.

Thank you for volunteering to help elsewhere. If you know the identity of the names on other Ayrshire memorials it would be good to get the details on those threads and if you know of any memorials or rolls of honour in churches or schools or halls which we haven't recorded yet it would be good to know about them too.

Kind regards

Adam
