Hello everyone
I am a volunteer at the North Ayrshire Heritage Centre in Saltcoats. Our latest project is researching the local war memorials and along with two other volunteers I have been researching the men on the Dreghorn War Memorial, Ayrshire. I came across this excellent site during our research and thought it was about time I registered and shared the information we have found.

Hi Mary and welcome.
Look forward to seeing your research and if you get stuck with a name do let us know. There are a number of us who "don't get out enough" and who do love a challenge. _________________ Ken |

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. This is my first time on a forum so apologies if I make any errors in replying/finding my way around.
Of the 60 men on the memorial for WW1 we have found information for all but 4 of them and there another 2 where some further research is needed to confirm we have the correct people. The local newspapers held at the Heritage Centre have been reviewed and my next step is to go to the Burns Centre to review the newspapers there. Looking forward to participating in the forum
