I think the Bruce Jones men must have been members of the family who owned the Larbert firm of James Jones, timber merchants. Tom Bruce Jones (born 1872 - their father??) was awarded the OBE for services to industry. James Bruce Jones played cricket.
Full name: James Bruce Jones
Born: 19th August 1910, Larbert, Stirlingshire, Scotland
Died: 29th April 1943, near Enfidaville, Egypt
Batting: Right-hand batsman
Education: Charterhouse School
Clubs: Stirling County
Relations: Cousin: JF Jones
Teams: Scotland (Main FC: 1936-1937);
Ref: http://cricketarchive.com/Archive/Players/27/27048/27048.html
Another member of the family (I think!) Major James Forbes Jones of the 7th A&SH was killed in 1917 and is buried at Etaples.
I have a passing interest because my mum worked in the office of James Jones in the 1970s and 80s. |

Yes they're all the same family.
If you have a look at the family stone in Larbert Old Parish Churchyard, you'll see them all listed.
