I thought that every Scottish community remembered their own?

I've read somewhere that mining communities which were used to sudden deaths of several of their men in a mine accident didn't feel the same need to erect memorials. This isn't true for all mining communities but you'll perhaps find that a lot of the newer memorials in Central and Southern Scotland are in former mining communities.

I agree Ken. There are no names on the memorial but if this was his residence on enlistment it seems appropriate.
