(The Scotsman 12th June 1915)
"Private Charles Keegan, Seaforth Highlanders, son of Mrs Keegan, 35 Carnethy Stret, Rosewell, was killed in action in Flanders. He was 34 years of age, was formerly employed by the Lothian Coal Company (Limited) at their Whitehill Pits, and at the time of enlistment eight months agohe was working at High Valleyfield, Fifeshire. He has two brothers serving."
