WHITE, JACK, DFC. Flying Officer (Navigator), RAF. Coastal Command (Shetlands etc), 1939-41. Seriously injured when Catalina aircraft broke in two parts, Gibraltar Bay, August, 1941. Later in Mosquito Squadron, 138 Wing, 2nd Tactical Air Force, during the invasion of the Continent. Awarded DFC for many attacks on enemy communications, and on enemy barracks in support of the airborne landing at Arnhem. Died in France from injuries received in a motor cycle accident, 16/3/45.

WHYTE, JAMES D. Able Seaman, RN. Served on HMS Hood (two years) and HMS Aurora. Killed in action on board the latter in the Mediterranean, 30/10/43.
