Yoker - West Dunbartonshire District (its in Glasgow)

The Yoker war memorial stands in a small park on Dumarton road just at the junction of Yetholm Street. The condition of the monument was badly deteriorating when I took these pictures a few years ago but it has recently been properly restored and is now in good condition.

The memorial was erected by Glasgow monumental sculptors Messrs. Scott Rae and their daybook entry reads:
'Order 6193, Yoker, Grey Memorial, Erected November 1921, Day Book 384'

The names on the old panel are almost illegible (I don't have a picture of the new one yet) but the names are as follows:

Jim

Yoker actually falls within West Dunbartonshire so I'm moving it along with a few other Dunbartonshire memorials.

The memorial stands in a small public park known both as 'Yoker Park' or 'Lady Anne Park'. UKNIWM has two entries for the same monument (in mid 2007) which I have tried to correct.
