The November 2013 issue of the Scots Magazine has an article entitled "A Monumental Duty", which details the work of the Scottish Military Research Group.

Committee member John Huston and his wife Margaret were interviewed for the article, and it's an excellent piece about the work we do.

I recommend picking up a copy.

I too have a copy of the Scots Magazine for November and was impressed by the article .

You will all know that the Scots Magazine even reported on the Battle of Culloden in its pages back in 1746 !

My Dad's cousin , J B Salmond jnr was the Scots Magazine editor from 1927 to 1948 . He had been commissioned intothe Fife Bn of the Black Watch for the Great War as he had gone to St Andrews Uni from school in Arbroath. He was hospital sub editor of the magazine in Edinburgh when ( editor ) Capt Seigfreed Sasson was there and editor during the time that Lt Wilfred Owen was there .

War Hospital for officers was craiglockhart in Edinburgh
