Don't get over excited about this. It will be a small exhibition, not the "major" one which is being trumpeted. It will cover the war from the persepctive of six people and their families. A soldier, sailor, nurse etc.

Yes, very much so I'd think, and in fact as far as I am aware the travelling bit will be using other museums' holdings too.

The people covered will be:

Florence Mellor - a VAD Nurse who worked at Craiglockhart and lost her brother a Gordon Highlander in 1918

Mrs William Dick - Lost her husband in Belgium in 1916 whilst he was in the Scots Guards

The Dalrymple Family - The effects of Robert Dalrymple MM, HLI of Glasgow. Died at the Somme, 1916

Mr and Mrs Dickson - lost their 16 year old son, a midshipman on HMS "Queen Mary", at Jutland

Roy and Helen Shivas - Their son died of wounds in 1915

John Baillie - His brother died in the Gretna Rail disaster.

It was proposed before to be 30 square metres and consist of three display cabinets and display boards. I don't know if that will change by the time it gets to the venues which don't seem to have been confirmed yet.
