great talk last night, lots of interested people and I had a good push to get them to sign up

heard of a number of memorials we don't have, in churches, schools and boarded up memorial windows in former churches

as I am not available to 'collect' these, I did not take notes of memorials and locations but if no-one from the meeting joins to make the postings then whoever gets around to getting the more difficult memorials in South Ayrshire should certainly contact the society for detailed info

A good response then.

Ach, if only for a pencil and bitty paper!

Derek.

What about a preprinted form?
When I do talks I take blank forms for anyone at the talk to fill in or take away.
It contains fields from my database so easy to fill in. Pencils too.........

good ideas both, I was just a bit overwhelmed with so many queuing to speak to me individually at the end of the question session

I put out the forms away from where I am standing this cuts the crowd in two. Leaflets and other paperwork which are free to pick up so no pressure.
I ask for two tables as well as laptop one.
I put out books and photos etc saying they are for looking at so make sure it's near me maybe try out something similar next time.

Anne, the form sounds a good idea. Could you email a copy to me, I'd like to use that in future.
