Various artefacts relating to the old local regiment the King's Own Scottish Borders are found in Duns Parish Church, in Berwickshire's county town.
Most notably there are the colours of the 1st Battalion from 1975 to 1996, hanging from the U-shaped gallery's 2 curves.
An accompanying plaque explains the exact history:
The Queen's Colour and the Regimental Colour are those of
1st Battalion the King's Own Scottish Borderers
Presented in Berlin on 28th February 1976 by
the Colonel in Chief,
HRH Princess Alice, Duchess of Gloucester
and laid up here 20th October 1996
during the ministry of The Reverend Hugh Mackay
Major General P Toyne Sewell, Colonel
Lieutenant Colonel AC Jackson, Commanding Officer

There is also a fine stained glass window, "the KOSB Window", installed in 2005 as a memorial to Lieut Colonel Peter B Gow, and in commemoration of the whole regiment. Sadly the KOSB were disbanded shortly after.
A leaflet explains many interesting details and 'hidden' features.
There's also a KOSB-related table lectern.
