I visited Eyemouth Museum today and was very impressed. I was even more impressed to discover a memorial to the men of the are who died in both world wars. Someone has gone to the trouble of researching the names and providing a book of remembrance which can be inspected.

It seems to be a strange use of wording and spacing on the plaque though.

Is it an old plaque being reused?

I see what you mean. Not sure how such a thing could be reused. The style of the plaque is conventional and, if it has been commissioned recently, could be said to be 'old fashioned'. I confess that I didn't inquire and I doubt if the lady on the desk could have answered if I had.

When the Eyemouth Branch of the Royal British Legion closed in 2009, the Book of Remembrance and various fittings were relocated to the Museum, to create this display.

Presumably that included the plaque and the flags.

Book of Remembrance has:
* 65 WWI names (1 more than on the civic memorial)
* 27 WWII names (1 fewer than on the civic memorial)
* (serviceman on civic memorial from 1952 in Canal Zone not included)
* 1 Iraq War name
