One of the WWII men commemorated in Corstorphine:

Name: WYE, DAVID GORDON
Rank: Lieutenant
Service No: 293210
Date of Death: 27/06/1944
Age: 28
Regiment/Service: Worcestershire Regiment 1st Bn.
Grave Reference: I. B. 3.
Cemetery: BROUAY WAR CEMETERY
Additional Information: Son of Jesse Middleton Wye and Mary Lucy Wye; husband of Mary Catherine Wye, of Edinburgh.

Also commemorated on the war memorial at the British Museum in London where he was a librarian (in what later became part of the British Library).

At his daughter's funeral today, it was also said that her father David Wye had served in the London Scottish before transferring to the Worcestershires.
