I'm not a Lithgae boy myself, I only go across to visit my daughter and her family. Keep it quiet but I'm really from deepest East Ayrshire myself. It's quite amazing really because my daughter was married in the kirk and my grand daughter was christened there and I've been to a few services as well and I never really noticed these memorials until I started getting involved with this Forum and taking my camera for a walk for some peace and quiet - one man and three women until my son in law gets home at beer o clock!!
Anyway I'll be back next week and I'll try and find out some of the history behind the Waterloo Cross.

This plaque is for my 4th great grandfather Thomas Rae it was put up in 1962 from his great grandson from america. This information of when it was put up has come form the church.
Is there anyway I could find out anymore information about his army career as the death records from Linlithgow at the time of his death have been destroyed and I can not find his grave in the graveyard.
I would be grateful if anybody would be able to help me.
Thank You
