Pothlethen is in the old parish of Banchory Devenick; I did not find a WM in other part of the parish. See my post for Banchory Devenick.

Here is John's post about Banchory Devenick. I don't think its should have a seperate thread

I went all round this parish and found no memorial other than already listed under Portlethen.

The parish ch is on the A943 at 906 024 but it was locked.

The church at 912 018 near Tollohol Lodge seems to be a private house tho there is an old graveyard next to it

It is, and I just happened to stumble across this entry.

(Glasgow herald 6th May 1915)

Maybe an error but probably because he had left the area many decades earlier and had very little to connect him locally. He was aged 56 residing at Portsmouth, after all, and may well have been added later because he was an " officer ".

This memorial is for the Parish of Banchory Devenick and not Portlethen. Portlethen is miles away, but in the parish. Banchory Devenick kirk is in the background.
Could a Moderator change the listing to correct this please?
