Tyneside Scottish & Tyneside Irish Memorial Bench
Location: Junction of D929 and D20 at la Boiselle, Ovillers-la-Boisselle, Somme, France
Google Maps Street View

I thought we had this memorial posted but I can't see it so I have taken a screenshot from Google Maps.

The bench commemorates the Tyneside Scottish & Tyneside Irish of the 34th Division. They attacked over this area on 1st July 1916 and suffered heavy casualties.

Regards

Adam

Thanks

Not strictly Scottish but I thought this marker would fit with the memorial.

Pte George Nugent of the Tyneside Scottish whose remains were found at the Lochnagar Crater a few hundred metres from the memorial bench.
