Were they able to confirm the original location of the memorial? Was it set on the old (now demolished) school? Or elsewhere?

Alexander Wallace Bruce Peggie, my Great Great Uncle, I would like to locate more information about him, including any photographs.

The following is an extract from Roll of Honours at Daniel Stewarts and Melville College Edinburgh where he studied:

Lieutenant Alexander Wallace Bruce Peggie
Date of Death: 17th Aug 1917
Unit: Royal Garrison Artillery
Service Number: Lovat Scouts - 2722

Alaexander Wallace Bruce Peggie was born in Leith on 23rd October 1895, the youngest son of James Peggie,
then a dairyman living at 1 Pitt Street in Leith, and Helen Wallace Peggie nee Tait. He attended the Edinburgh
Institution from 1910 to 1912, and the address held for him in school records is East Pilton, Ferry Road, Edinburgh.
After leaving school he worked at Messrs J & J Cunningham of Leith, and by the outbreak of the war was a farmer, he
and his father living at Hallyards, Kirliston, Linlithgowshire (now West Lothian).
He enlisted as a Trooper into the 2/1st Lovat Scouts on 17th February 1915, and volunteered for overseas service in August.
On 2nd Novemeber 1915 he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant into the 1/1st Lowland (City of Edinburgh) Heavy
Battery of the Royal Garrison Artillery, and was promoted to Lieutenant on 1st June 1916. He arrived in France
on 1st Februrary 1917, he was serving with 14th (Heavy) Battery.

Lieutenant Peggie is buried at Coxyde Military Cemetery, near the village now known as Koksijde, 20 miles NNW of Ypres
in Belgium. He qualified for the British War Medal and Allied Victory Medal.

Dear LIT (Gary), I bought 14th Heavy Battery, R.G.A. War Diary and overjoyed to find a picture of my Great Great Uncle. I will be planning a visit to the National Archives at Kew, London very soon. Will continue my research and if anything new appears, I will share. Thanks once again. A
